In “Chariots of the Gods”, artist Asha Menghrajani unveils a utopia of daring colors and mystical ambiance. As evocative as Menghrajani's work is, her process, she says, is meditative and intuitive. In the beginning she layers shapes, collage elements, and color onto her canvas. She then scrapes through the paint to reveal the colors beneath resulting in a spectacular expression of light, texture, and dimension. The evocative shapes and layers of color in Asha Menghrajani's paintings are as far reaching as her background. Raised in the Philippines, she's traveled extensively in Europe, Asia, Egypt, Dubai, and Mexico before making a home in multi-cultural northern California.
